I use my blog to express myself, and also to cope with things that happen in my life. Some of you may have already read, that there is a new man in my life. But this special man is not just part of my SecondLife but also of my Real-life. Since we have long distance relationship, some things are taken more hard than they are for real, and we are still figuring everything out, getting used to each other, without getting used to each other.
Yesterday we had such a day, a tough nut, after some more tough weeks, and it was hard, but we managed, and we are in a really good place again. So far the excuse in my private real life.
Sail...
Today, to refill our batteries, we decided on a small sailing tour in the SweetPea. It is a nice and slow boat, for a lazy but amazing sailing experience. Marty was wearing most of the time his uniform, but that happens when your job is your calling I guess.
Our little cruise started in Vindar, at the RS Yacht Club, down to the south. In the middle of the way, Marty and I met my best friend Jaspar, at Snug Sea. He just came back from the test run for the new rainbowsails cruise, so we had a small but cheeky chat, before we parted, and sailed our ways.
So Marty's and my way took us down to St.Martin, to the Rainbow Sails Power Boat Charter, where we had a nice time at their cute little beach, before we kept on sailing.
The end was getting down to the Butterfly Island, and to grab there a kayak for a nice and slow ride, along the rainforest together.
Love...
That plan, sailing together, spending all this time together worked, and in the end, we needed some snuggle time on the SweetPea. We talked about making it look like a fire-boat, a really old one, we will see what I can make out of it.
And about the love-part of this post, just imagine what happened after that snuggling ...
... or how Lara Silverfall meets Martin "Rambo" Mendle
It all began as a totally ordinary day, as Lara Silverfall opened her mailbox and found a note. There was no sender, nothing to trace this letter back, but what she read was disturbing, and ... intriguing.
A darkness controls the soul. A darkness that drives a good man to unfathomable depths of depravity. No one is safe from the murky evil that lurks inside…not you….not me. Discover the demons that compelled an honest, home-loving man to a murderous spiral of insanity. Capture for eternity the lost souls of his victims and walk among the dead of The Ghost Town. THE SILENCE OF THE GHOST TOWN IS DEAFENING
Her interest was piqued, and she followed all the leads, until Lara finally found the lost fisher town, more a village, like thousands of its kind. But something was different, she could feel it, a darkness was hovering over this place, lurking in its shadows, waiting for one wrong step.
Soon she found an old journal, and the typical old guy, telling horror stories about this tiny town. After reading through the journal, she knew, she had to find all the souls, still wandering this place, haunting it.
But there was something else, a feeling, that she wasn't alone at this god forsaken place. When she arrived at the town center, someone jumped her from behind, she was ready to defend herself, but strong arms closed in on her and pulled back, right when a piece of wall fell out of nowhere and would have buried the huntress.
Her saviour was no one less, than Martin "Rambo" Mendle, friendly, kind and armed to the teeth. They decided, that it would be more save together, so both hunters tagged along, to relief the lost souls together.
It was a bloody hunt, the cruelties they had to witness will follow them forever. The souls, the ghosts, twisted, stuck in their last final moments of pain, relive their horrors enduring, over and over again, waiting for help.
The dangers of this place, scared the heroes of this story, but this ghost town, also brought them closer together. In the end, they waited for the fairy.. together.
That was a little excursion to the adventures of Lara Silverfall, I know lots of you love to read about her. This Madpea-Adventure is free, and around since December 19th 2015. After being disappointed by the Interview, i thought i will give this one a try, and I had such a blast!
My boyfriend Marty tagged along, and it was his first MadPea-Adventure, and I am pretty sure he is sold. The Ghosts were not too easy to find, but not to hard, the HUD was working great, just as we are used to, and the atmosphere was amazing. For the extra creepy feelings I changed my windlight settings a bit.
I really hope you will check it out yourself, it will be around for a bit, but I am not sure for how long, so be fast! My final result, a total must have, for every SL-adventurer out there!
The Goliathus Society is hiring. The race for the Job that everyone wants is about to start. Who is going to be the first one to pass the recruitment assessment days filled with mysterious puzzles and intrigue.
How bad do you want it? All you need to do is to pass The Interview...
A good friend gifted me the Gold HUD and I was hyped about it. I loved the Asylum and the Collection, so the Interview was the thing I really wanted to do. All the promises about riddles, for me who does riddle games every day, the perfect thing!
That's what I thought, and with most rooms indeed, the riddles are tough but doable, with some, it's really about thinking around the corner. For me, I am used to have a partner, was it sad, I had to do it alone, because you just can go into the rooms all by yourself.
But there is more. To reduce the lag the Madpeas build instances, I love it, but it also causes high waiting times, for me in Germany it basically means I have 3 hours in the mornings, and that is when I get up early. One has just a short amount of minutes, before you get kicked out of a room and you have to revisit. If you are unlucky, you wont get in because another one just took your place.
For someone as easily annoyed as I am.. a big minus!
With that system I am still not through, because one doesn't just have to solve the riddles, but to find 12 glyphs and insects. The glyphs are no issue, the insects are. I have finished all the riddles, and I am close to give up and ignore the prices.
Also to help with the riddles, there are coins now you can use for hints and help or just to skip a room completely. You get some of these coins in the beginning, but you can buy more of them as well. That combined with the fact that you get really rare hints where to start is a good way of making more money. I know everything in SL is expensive, but come on folks, we pay for the HUDs don't we? It looks a bit like a pay to win situation...
So what is my final result? I still love the Madpea ideas. ANd I will continue to check them out, because this was one out of three I didn't like. Do I still think The Collection was the best yet? Of course, do I think some of the riddles were too much even for riddle-pros like me? I do. But next to the annoying part, I did had fun, and that is, what the Madpea is about, isn't it?
... or how Dr. Quron Death found an unsuspected victim...
It always starts harmless they say. It just looks frightening they say. If you see someone obviously insane, smile at them.. they say. You know what.. screw them, if it looks odd - RUN - like you have never done before in your life. Or you might end up, like this humble blogger. Stabbed.. twice .. blinded.. electrocuted... tortured.. and.. with a candy cane in your left eyeball.
How it all started? Well... it began ... very harmless... with the someone who pointed my interest onto a special relic, a stone. But not just a common rock, a soulstone. After some research I found out, that I might be able to find one at the Peatonville Asylum. Oh yah great idea, me a humble sailor, walks into an abandoned asylum just two weeks before all hallows eve... Samhain or simply Halloween. What could possibly go wrong?
You my dear reader know.. if someone asks what possibly could go wrong, the simple answer is EVERYTHING! And that was just what happened. I jumped on the next ferry to Peatonville Island and had.. the time of my life! well or the last... time of my life.. I am not quite sure how to put it. On the fairy I ate something that was calles Zombie Fried Chicken. Yah sure it's october, its halloween time.. its prolly just spicy chicken... but later.. just minutes after I arrived at the island... everything turned blurry. I remember someone smiling at me, talking wear things.. and everything went black but one thing, still roams through my brain. Screams! painful horrible screams... and while I was thinking, what poor fella could be in such pain.. I recognized my own voice...
When I opened my eyes, I was on my knees, looking up to a steel door. the chains of it lay in the grass, grass that was supposed to tickle my skin, but there was no tickle, no roughness just.. cold... a cold that dripped through my veins like thick sirup, reaching every last piece of my so-called body. There was no pain anymore.. I still remember the screams... but no pain.. there was no pain... but ice, that crawled along my skin, pale skin that once was golden and warm. What had happened to me?
A nice man leaned down, and helped me on my bare feet. Standing upright was wear, it felt like needles on my skin and cotton around my head. He smiled at me, he didn't talk but stared, interested and smiling. he remembered me of a proud owner of a puppy that learned a new trick. And so it began....
The Peatonville Asylum - a Madpea production, made me scream, squeak and squirm big times, all over my evening. The story is simple, something horrible happened at an asylum, it's all about a rock, and if you are a Gold Pea you have to find the ghosts of all of the victims, followed by a gridwide hunt for the shards of a soulstone.
Some shards are easy to find, others just don't. A special, happy moment was Dutch Harbor again, what Analyse Dean did for this Madpea, awesome, it deserves a look, even for no Pea-ers. Seven hours caught this game my breath, but probably because I was so distracted by frightening other players, with my more than gruesome looks. All in one, this game tops again, and is worth your money and time!
It was such a day again. I was sleeping so well, and woke up so nicely, by the ringtone of my cellphone. It was Jasp, “Jaspar Gates”. We know him and his adventures. Finding National Treasure(s), and Secret Book(s). But this time it wasn’t about his family, but about something, I already experienced. The collection demon was free again, and they asked him for help.
And he, asked me, his best friend. So once again we dressed up, and started.. at grandpas house….
We fought us through lag, relogs, and dumpsters … and finally arrived at the magic shop. I lost my drive … this time when I used the evil tester, I lost two ranks… probably a malfunction…
Sand in my boots … sand in my pants, sand at places where never a men was before! One of the last pieces, i am tired, i hope we will be able to stop the demon this time!
Finally the mansion, mosquitos ate me alive, and Jasp as well. Without these lanterns, we would have been lost in the woods. Now the really dangerous part begins!
After all.. the silver vault guest book. We made it, we survived! the demon is defeated and Jaspar can grab his prizes. And i know which one he is drawn to the most…
The Bandit Madpea, we found this old, vintage boat, and fixed it. After some calm moments at Hay Harbor, we jumped on it and sailed straight home!
On the way back we found Garith waiting for us. So he jumped aboard as well! The three of us on the Madpea… what a great feeling, after so much adventure!
Today Hera and I took the liberty to have a small cruise with the Madpea. After a long time of trouble and trouble shootingwith the new Firestorm and Firestorm-Team, we finally got rid of the lag and could have a nice small test cruise. Hera never had been too the Rene Marina, so I took her there, with OVER 100 knots windspeed.. .. to make the Madpea run a bit.
That sweet small boat hit on the way back the 21 knots and made it a fun ride. The other way around the Firestorm works, less bandwidth less lag. Thank you Hera for this nice afternoon, and thank you again to Analyse Dean, for this awesome price boat.
And a small joke for the ride:
Why do seagulls fly over the sea? -Because if they flew over the bay, they’d be baygels!
… or how Quron Jones and Lara Silverfall saved the world …. somehow…
It all started with an invitation.. doesn’t it always?Quron my boyfriend got a golden ticket, for the newest Madpea production, the collection. He wanted me to come along, so thanks to Fukuju Amaterasu, i got a golden ticket myself. She gifted me her second one - lucky number 5 … or unlucky?
So on Thurday noon, it was time to visit the red carpet, for the early opening to “The Collection”. The mood was high, but we all could feel … something was in the air… not right… a tiny shiver on the back, goose bumbs all over the arms … after a warm welcome, Kiana and Madpea itself send us on the mission!
A sad one, our Grandfather died, and we inherited it all. We got the key to his appartment and a letter, now we had to find it!
From the appartment it sends us to the pawn shop. We didn’t knew that Grampa was into such things … after some trying, we finally could open the irons and walk in.. just to smash the probably antique vase.. right next to the door. Just good its ours now.. noone could send us a bill!
Sniffing around.. thats something Q and I are very good at, so we didn’t need much time, to sniff all we needed out.. and we even had a nice little break at the diner! I took the time, while we waited for our late lunch, to read the journal we found. it was very old, and cryptic.. I felt with the poor soul who worte it. >Never trust american men.. mother always said…<
We found also a weird trumpet… and it played a strange.. sad melody all alone… what is behind this… at first.. we thought it was just a game?!
In the laundry we found a card from a magic shop.. on the way there, to get some information and explenations… someone tried to throw us off the road. Our car was smashed.. we had mad luck that we survived.
Strange was, the truck was without driver… and there was something weird under it.. but I couldnt reach it tho…
After a long trip Quron and I finally arrived at the magic box.. erm.. shop, no Buffy no Angel but a slightly creepy, very friendly old Lady, who needed our help. In return, she would give us the missing journal pages. Hrmm missing.. well I should probably read it again…
She asked us for help, and we agreed. While Quron talked to her about the terms, I tried the Evil-Tester… it seems that I am the devil herself. Awesome! Me likey!
Some sniffing around and snooping through books later, we finally took on the journey, to find the things the old Lady was asking for.(Considering you want to play to, I wont spoiler here!)
Complete Journal, check! Reading the complete journal, check! Getting stuff to survive.. check.. but… do I believe in demons?!
We followed the journal, in the footsteps of the female author. We found secret places, and know ones. At Dutch Harbor, we discovered a new old design by Analyse Dean, the Bandit Madpea … we hijacked the prototype, to set over water to the Dixie Queen…
Many waters we had to cross, many lands. By plane, car, bike or boat. At Gabriel we took a break, and made some music together… but all we were able to play, was this melancholic walz. it frightened us… while Quron tried to find logical expanaitions, I froze more and more.. from the inside… feeling my blood coldening….
One place was very strange, I found a shack… it must have been there for ages, in front of it was a semi tame leopard… I was able to come closer… but suddenly it hissed at me and growled .. so we ignored it, and kept looking, for the missing bass drum.
After we collected all the missing instruments… it wasnt even our decision, it was a drive… insane… to collect them. I feld a bit lunatic, but that’s not unnormal for me … so after we collected all of them … something happened. A music sheet appeared… with this same melanchilic and frightening song.. and while we could hear it.. the sheet turned into a map.. and pulled us.. out of the.. space-time-structure, and we woke up.. at a weird place. It was old.. smelled like mold and rotten wood.. and it was pitch black. Not even lanterns could help us to see more.
Without the flash of my camera, we would have been uber blind!
A long way through dark woods and over old bridges later, we found stairs in the darkness. Climbing them was the only other option, or fallowing the path back into the woods. The clock must have turned midnight, when Quron and I finally arrived at the top of the cliff, and found the old haunted mansion, just like the journal described.
Doubts came up. Was it right what we did? Someone went through great length to hide the instruments. She died, to keep the world from harm.. and now.. we are here, at this haunted.. crused place, bringing the instruments all back….
The Mansion was huge, and it smelled weird. Not like molt but old, spider webs covered most of the rooms, and the rest was dusty and yet.. it didn’t seemed as if so many years have passed…
In the garden… we could still smell the blood. The chaos was… it was as if it just happened … and not over 200 years ago. When I put the music sheet on the podest, the instruments flew by itself to the chairs.. and started playing… again this.. weird… melody … my blood froze to ice.. and it still does, just writing about it.
I dont know why, but while the music was playing a wind came up, drawing me to the huge stone symbol. Quron and I started to examine it when we heard this voice.. a dark voice… straight from hell! The amulett i wore for safety, bruned ice cold into my skin, and Q hold me close, tossing holy water all over the creature.. but before it could harm us, the demon dissapeared, and the seal beneith our feet cracked …. while we fell and fell … I lost my consciousness.
As I woke up, I still rested in Qurons arms. He wasn’t hurt either. the dimmed light of the candles, seemed bright for the first moments, but then.. we discovered, we were save… in a vault, filled with… gifts, for those who survived… the game!
One day later….
An award was handed to me, for being one of the golden ticket owner, and for finishing the game. My bottom line, it was it worth it. Every single, breath taking, goose bumpy, blood freezing second. Thank you to the Madpea team, for your awesome work. It was my first, but it wont be my last.
And with tears in my eyes, i accept this award, and wishing for.. world peace!
